Robust and proven patient protection

The Passport™ system is part of the same suite of patient security products as the Hugs® infant protection system, which protects over a million babies every year. Stanley Healthcare’s proven technology can protect your patients, too.

Passport protecting patients
Here’s how it works. Every patient wears a Passport tag on the wrist or ankle, and every exit point of the department is electronically monitored. Tag messages are picked up by a network of receivers installed at regular intervals throughout the monitored area.

Multiple layers of protection

The Passport system protects patients on three levels:

  • Exit protection:
Any attempt to leave without authorization results in an alarm in the Passport software that identifies the patient, the location and the time.
  • Tamper protection:
The Passport tag is tamper-resistant with a cut-resistant band, to make it very difficult to remove. Should the attempt be successful, an alarm appears in the software.
  • Supervision protection:
The tag sends out a signal every ten seconds. If these messages are not seen by the system for a certain time, an alarm is generated.

Clinically focused software

The Passport system helps to ease clinical workflow with a range of useful features:

  • Transport command:
Enables you to remove a patient from the department for medical procedures. The tag may be left on the patient or removed, as needed.
  • Re-attachable band:
When a patient returns to the department, the tag can be reattached using the same band and the individual is automatically readmitted to the system.
  • Personalized security:
The system also lets you grant certain patients the freedom to travel outside of the department unescorted at certain times of the day.
  • Customizable “whiteboard”:
See all the patients in the system at a glance, and initiate everyday tasks by clicking on one of the large task icons.
