Dependable wander prevention
The RoamAlert® system provides effective wander prevention that is easy to implement, and easy for your staff to use. And it’s proven itself at thousands of facilities over a period spanning more than 20 years. Download the Wander prevention overview brochure.

The smallest and lightest resident tag
The RoamAlert tag is an advanced radio frequency device that is the smallest and lightest resident tag on the market today, weighing less than a third of an ounce.
Worn by each resident requiring protection on either the wrist or ankle, the tag emits a unique ID number so that each resident can be individually identified.
It is waterproof, hypoallergenic and can be transferred from one person to the next. For perimeter wander prevention applications, the RoamAlert tag carries a three year warranty.
Reliable and discreet door protection
The RoamAlert system provides highly reliable door protection. Each key exit from your facility is monitored by a door controller that projects an adjustable and tightly defined field around the exit.
When a tag enters this field, it sends its unique signal to the door controller. If the door is open, a Wander Alarm is immediately generated; if the door is closed, the door controller can activate an optional magnetic door lock to hold the door securely shut, and generate a Loiter Alarm if the resident does not move away from the door within 55 seconds.
The door controller can be integrated with existing access control systems so that staff can escort a monitored resident through the exit. In addition, two on-board relays enable the RoamAlert system to activate a range of other devices, such as strobes and sounders.
The door controller is usually installed out-of-view above a drop-ceiling, helping you to maintain a home-like environment for your facility.
False-alarm free operation

Unlike many other wander management products, the RoamAlert system is not prone to false alarms due to interference from electric or electronic equipment, other RF devices or natural events like lightning.
Specialized protection for elevators
For facilities with multiple floors, protecting elevators can be a particular challenge. If the wander system is installed on the outside of the elevator, a monitored resident who is near to any open elevator door will cause all elevators to lock down. The RoamAlert system overcomes this problem with its UL-listed elevator system, which is installed inside the elevator car. An alarm occurs only if the resident actually enters the cab, and won’t affect the operation of the other elevators in the bank.
