SAN FRANCISCO (Gigaom Structure Connect), October 16, 2014 – STANLEY Healthcare today announced that Performance Improvement Director Ashley Simmons of Florida Hospital Celebration Health will be presenting at the upcoming Gigaom Structure Connect conference, held October 21-22 at the Mission Bay Conference Center in San Francisco, Calif.
During her presentation, Ms. Simmons will talk about findings from Celebration Health's three-year initiative to track and analyze the real-time location of nurses during their shifts to better understand and improve resourcing and workflow patterns. The initiative, implemented using STANLEY Healthcare's RTLS visibility solutions and analytics, is an early example of how the Internet of Things and wearable computing can help improve efficiency and support patient care and satisfaction in healthcare environments.
"Florida Hospital Celebration Health's pioneering work with the capture and analysis of data on how nurses work throughout their shift has led to significant insights that will benefit the healthcare industry at large," said Jason Fradin, AVP of Marketing for STANLEY Healthcare. "Its work also offers important lessons for any organization considering rolling out its own Internet of Things or Wearable Computing initiative, no matter what industry."

"The vast amounts of data we've amassed over the past few years on how our nurses work has become a wealth of information for predictive analytics," said Ms. Simmons of Celebration Health. "The data has debunked long-standing industry best practices about staffing and is uncovering numerous ways we can improve productivity. It is proving beneficial to the nursing team and staff, providing them with a better understanding of their own work patterns throughout their shift. The data has even influenced the design of our most recently opened unit. We're eager to share our findings and spread the benefits to the broader industry."
