Helsinki and Uusimaa Hospital District Selects AeroScout Real-Time Visibility Platform to Enhance Patient Care and Improve Efficiency
Enterprise asset management solution to be deployed at three hospital locations of Finland’s largest hospital district
WALTHAM, Mass. and HELSINKI, Finland, February 18, 2016 —STANLEY Healthcare, a market leading provider of visibility solutions and analytics for the healthcare industry, is pleased to announce Helsinki and Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS) has selected its AeroScout Real Time Location System (RTLS) platform for deployment in its Meilahti Tower Hospital, Meilahti Triangle Hospital and Women’s Hospital.
In close collaboration with Elisa, a STANLEY Healthcare authorized partner, HUS embarked on a large-scale technology initiative to automate the management of its critical medical equipment, including IV pumps, patient beds and wheelchairs, which were previously tracked manually. Through STANLEY Healthcare’s advanced AeroScout Asset Management solution, HUS will have unprecedented visibility into the location and status of more than 3,000 medical assets, significantly reducing operational costs and the amount of time caregivers spend searching for important assets necessary for high-quality patient care. Additionally, STANLEY Healthcare’s Asset Management solution will help HUS reduce shrinkage and streamline the preventive maintenance process for the hospitals’ medical assets.
“As the largest of the 20 hospital districts in Finland, HUS recognises the importance of staying on the forefront of technology to reduce healthcare costs and provide high-quality patient care,” said Jouko Virtanen, Project Manager for HUS. “We’re pleased to partner with STANLEY Healthcare and Elisa to deploy the AeroScout Asset Management solution so we can serve our patients in the most efficient, cost-effective manner possible.”
As part of STANLEY Healthcare’s industry-leading visibility and analytics platform, the Asset Management solution is a cost-effective way to continuously monitor and proactively manage the location, status and condition of assets across the enterprise in real-time. The solution leverages the hospital’s existing Wi-Fi infrastructure to automate manual processes for managing and monitoring assets. Combined with reporting tools, hospitals gain access to entirely new levels of operational insights for immediate action, historical views and trend analysis.
“As one of Finland’s largest healthcare providers – serving more than 1.5 million people a year – HUS is a leader in transforming healthcare delivery through real-time location data and visibility solutions,” said Greg Borecki, VP sales, international and strategic alliances, STANLEY Healthcare. “Through deployment of our AeroScout RTLS Platform, HUS will be able to leverage powerful, actionable intelligence on a 24x7 basis to provide the highest standard of patient care available today.”
