FRAMINGHAM, Mass. and Bethesda, Md., December 14, 2012 – Stanley Healthcare and GetWellNetwork, Inc.® today announced that they have integrated Stanley Healthcare’s Real-Time Location System (RTLS) with GetWellNetwork’s Interactive Patient Care™ solution. The combined solution helps healthcare organizations keep patients and their families informed and secure by identifying caregivers that enter patient rooms and tracking when they visited. The integration has already been successfully deployed at Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel and is being deployed in other leading hospitals.

How It Works
Clinicians wear Stanley Healthcare Wi-Fi RFID Tags that recognize who they are and signal when they enter and exit patient rooms. The specific caregiver’s name and photo, along with information about his or her role, are then displayed on the patient’s in-room video monitor. This makes it easy for the patient and family to know who is in the room and to verify the identity and function of the caregiver.
The information is also recorded so that the patient’s family can look back to see when caregivers visited. For example, using the combined solution, a family member could check to see if the doctor has visited yet or see the last time a clinician checked in on their loved one. This reduces confusion and ambiguity with patients’ families.
