STANLEY Healthcare Extends AeroScout Real-Time Visibility and Resident Safety Solution with new Resident Pendant and Call Station

New emergency call functionality provides senior living communities with more options for campus-wide resident safety on Wi-Fi

WALTHAM, Mass., October 20, 2015 — STANLEY Healthcare, a market leading provider of visibility solutions and analytics for the healthcare industry, today announced two significant enhancements to its AeroScout  solution for senior living: the P10 Wi-Fi Resident Pendant and the Wi-Fi Emergency Call Station. The new items will be among the many safety and security solutions showcased at STANLEY Healthcare booth 1019 at the LeadingAge Annual Meeting and Expo, November 1-4, 2015 in Boston, MA.

The emergency call functionality provided by the new pendant and call station further extend the capability of the AeroScout solution to protect residents anywhere in senior living communities. The AeroScout solution leverages the Wi-Fi network to locate residents, staff and equipment in real-time with a high level of accuracy. In addition to Emergency Call, AeroScout supports Wander Alerting, Staff Assist, Environmental Monitoring and Equipment Management.

Residents carrying the P10 Pendant can call for help from any location with Wi-Fi coverage, even outside on the grounds. Fixed call stations in resident rooms provide a further layer of security for residents, staff and even visitors.

The MobileView® software for the AeroScout solution is an enterprise grade platform to manage alerts and document the changing needs of residents.The location, status and movement of residents can be viewed in real-time and historically. Alerts can also be directed to staff through a variety of means, including IP phones, pagers, mobile devices, e-mail and text messages. Customized maps make it easy to quickly see a resident’s location, with information automatically updated via mobile devices, smartphones and workstations.

Unlike other solutions that only activate in a duress situation, the P10 Pendant transmits its location to the AeroScout solution on a regular basis. This detailed location information combined with the call history from the Wi-Fi Call Stations help senior living communities to monitor resident activity levels to form a more precise picture of each resident for care planning, reimbursement and staffing level analysis.

 “The P10 Pendant and Wi-Fi Call Station are part of a larger strategy to deliver innovative smart living solutions to senior living communities of all kinds” said Mike Webster, Senior Solutions Manager LTC and Security for STANLEY Healthcare. “In our consultations with customers and other stakeholders, we heard clearly the desire for actionable, real-time information that will allow communities not just to respond to residents in a timely manner, but also to understand their needs at a deeper level.”

The P10 Pendant has been carefully designed to combine ease of use for residents and staff with an attractive, contemporary design. Key features include:

  • Smaller and lighter than previous models;
  • Attractive contemporary design;
  • Large, easy-to-press button with tactile surface;
  • Positive visual and audible feedback to confirm successful button press and other actions;
  • Secure, local reset for staff with button press sequence;
  • Meets IP67 standard for dust and water resistance;
  • Over-the-air configuration and firmware upgrades;
  • Replaceable battery, with 1-3 battery life depending on use.

The P10 Pendant can be worn with a length-adjustable breakaway lanyard or a belt-clip. Colored clip-ons also allow for personalization of the tag.

The P10 Pendant has been validated in their facilities by STANLEY Healthcare customers, including San Francisco Towers, part of Episcopal Senior Communities. “The reaction to the new pendant has been very positive. Residents appreciate the new look and the fact that the button is easy to press. It really creates a sense of comfort,” says Pamela Stitt, Director of Health Services at San Francisco Towers. “One of our core goals as an organization is to maximize the potential of each resident. Anything that encourages safe mobility for residents helps us in our mission.”

The P10 Pendant will be available by the end of 2015, with release of the Wi-Fi Call Station planned for Q1 2016.
