STANLEY Healthcare Signs a CRADA to Assess Clinical Patient Flow at the Y-12 National Security Complex

WALTHAM, Mass., May 29, 2013– STANLEY Healthcare, a market leading provider of safety, security and operational efficiency solutions for the healthcare industry, today announced that it has signed a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) in partnership with Babcock & Wilcox Technical Services Y-12 and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UT).  Under the terms of the CRADA, the organizations will conduct research under Y-12’s U.S. Department of Energy contract to demonstrate the applicability of Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS) in the Medical Department at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN.

“This CRADA represents a valuable opportunity to illustrate the many benefits of our STANLEY Healthcare AeroScout® Real-Time Location System (RTLS) in assessing the current state of patient flow, to allow for the implementation of new processes that improve staff efficiency and optimize clinic operations,” said Scott McFarland, Vice President of Acute Care Sales for STANLEY Healthcare.  “Not only does this visibility enable reduced costs through improved utilization of resources, capacity and equipment, but our customers typically see an enhanced patient experience through reduced wait times, improved staff communication and care delivery.”

The partners will conduct a ceremonial signing of the CRADA on May 29th at the 2013 National Technology Summit, being held at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN.
