At Stanley Black & Decker, October means Maker Month.
Maker Month recognizes those who make things… products, solutions, innovations. We’re dedicating this year’s Maker Month to recognizing Technicians – the makers of safer, healthier and more efficient environments.
In addition to celebrating our Technicians this month, we’re also committing to support future Technicians to develop the skills needed to enter the industry and succeed in their careers.

Why We’re Supporting Future Technicians
10 million jobs remain unfilled globally, due to gaps in skills. Stanley Black & Decker is committed to closing that gap.
As a part of the Stanley Black & Decker family, it’s our goal to close the gap in the healthcare industry. That’s why we’re providing opportunities for people to develop the vocational and trade skills needed to work in our industry as Install and Service Technicians.

How We’re Supporting Future Technicians
We’re working together with schools and colleges in North America, the UK, and Europe to provide funding and support to students with technical interests.
Students will be able to apply for a scholarship through their school/college, and successful applicants will be awarded at the start of 2021.
Register your interest today to be among the first to hear more.

Why Become a Technician
Technicians play a vital role in making working and living environments safer, healthier, and more efficient. They are on the frontline, installing innovative technologies at our customers' locations, and helping them to improve care to patients and residents.
The dynamic nature of the Technician role means no two working days are ever the same but each day provides an opportunity to innovate and make a difference.
